Flower Kerchief
(The above 4 photos show me modeling a rectangular green kerchief dotted with tiny orange-pink flowers and looking at a variety of plants, both in and outdoors.)
Spring has sprung, and green thumbs are getting back into the garden. Tie your hair back with this quick kerchief for a fresh and practical look.
This kerchief is knit from the bottom up, first making just the part that will cover the head. This piece has a single row of 2-color stranded knitting every 4 rows (it will always be a right side row). After this piece is finished, stitches are picked up along each edge to knit the ties that are used to affix the kerchief.
This looks best in 2 colors with strong contrast. The MC would be best as a solid or tonal yarn, and the CC can be a little more wild.
A low-vision version of the pattern is also available. This version is written in 24 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out.
